San Francisco Legacy Since 1924
For over 100 years, Casa Sanchez has been a trusted part of the Bay Area community. What started as a small tortilla operation has grown into a legacy rooted in family, culture, and tradition. Watch the story of how it all began, and how it continues today.
Where it all started
In 1924, Robert Sanchez Sr. began selling fresh tortillas out of a truck in San Francisco’s Fillmore District. Alongside him, his wife Ysabel brought family recipes and traditions from Zacatecas, Mexico. Together, they built something simple, but powerful: authentic food made with care, for the community.

In 1968, during the excitement of the Apollo space mission, the iconic “Jimmy the Cornman” logo was born—capturing imagination, culture, and a sense of fun. Today, that same spirit lives on through every product and every person who wears and represents the brand. Rooted in tradition, built on family, and shared with the community—now available online for everyone to enjoy.
